About Andries Veerman

Born in The Hague, Holland. Andries's initial studies in figure drawing, and anatomy began at the University of the Fraser Valley. In the fall of 1995, at age thirty, he left his commercial work and started painting full time.
Later he continued his studies in Academic Classicism at the Scottsdale Artists School with Premier Painters of America, such as Laura Robb and Howard Terpning in Scottsdale, Arizona. Terpning, a graduate of the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and the American Academy of Art, most honored painter of Western art.  However, Andries's individual style has developed significantly with the poetic approach of Tonalism.
Andries has received international recognition for his historical Native American Themes and Tonalist Landscapes; many of them large works sought out by collectors throughout North America.
Throughout his career, Andries Veerman has promoted art education through workshops and television presentations. He travels widely in the Western Hemisphere for his subjects.
